Just a real quick post (rather than a real tutorial) about the code you need to add to your e.g. /etc/network.d/home file to be able to connect to a wireless network with wpa/wpa2 enryption and dhcp activated using netcfg:
CONNECTION="wireless"
INTERFACE=wlan0
SECURITY="wpa-configsection"
ESSID="wlan-name"
IP="dhcp"
GATEWAY=192.168.1.1
USEWPA="yes"
CONFIGSECTION='
ssid="wlan-name"
psk="passphrase"'
If the router is set to a static IP, you need to change IP="dhcp" to IP="static" and add the following two lanes of code above your configsection part:
DNS1=192.168.1.1
IFOPTS="192.168.1.xx netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255"
Edit the IP and the other stuff to your needs and everything should work out fine!
See the archlinux.org news entry for some more information!

Yesterday night, before going to bed, I figured out some interesting yet frightening thing; my time chart of the last 4 days..
Time spent at the library:
Wednesday: 11 h
Thursday: 11 h
Friday: 12 h
Saturday: 9,5 h
This makes a whole of 43,5 h at the library. Set against 4 days each 24 h (96 h total) the result which araises is that I spent 45,3% of the possible time to spend in four days at the library.
Calculating this up with the ~30h of sleep I had it comes out that I slept > 30% less than I studied..
Social life? Is for lazybones!

Yesterday, being at a ‘hallowirthday’ party (both, halloween and birthday party), I learned about deezer.
Founded by Daniel Marhely and Jonathan Benassaya, Deezer offers free online music streaming to it’s users.
Unfortunately, quite many contents on the website are only available in French. And as French and I are like fire and water, I am not able to quote or tell anything from their website besides the fact, I just laid down.
Listening to The Prodigy’s album Invaders must die right now.
No ads (at least not while using Firefux with AdBlock+), no fees and really good sound quality. They also offer an built-in equalizer to finetune the songs you are listening to.
As a nice gesture you do not even have to register to listen to the music. Playlists and other extras do require a registration, though.
All in all a great service, sure worth checking out!

General Boot Buying Guide
First of all you should know that boots are probably the most important thing of your whole setup. Therefore this part of your equip should be the last thing to save money on.
For boots, it’s all about comfort and feel. Buying some, you have to wear them for a while, at least for around 20minutes (do not just slip in and buy if it fits) before taking them home!
Most shops nowadays also offer the possibility of taking the shoes home with you, wear it for some hours in your room and return it for full money-refund during the next 14 days if they are not fitting. If you get that offer- take it!
Boot brands, be it Nitro, Vans, K2, Salomon, Burton or any other, mostly have one ‘line’ of boots which means that it might happen that (almost) all models of one brand are totally failing on you, boots from some other brand fit like perfect. Reading this you should be already noticing that buying after brand and not after comfort can almost only be the wrong decision.
A wrong boot often results in major pain in your feet and legs and can ruin a whole otherwise great season.

hey guys, some smaller update on the things going on right now:
As I mentioned in one of my last posts, I am now working at the snowboard-review.com forums. Trying to push the site and my experience level, I am currently working on a UNION Binding Company article about their Custom House models I’d like to publish at snowboard-review.com then. But well, first of all I need to get a reply to the mail I sent to UNION, next Rich (admin of snowboard-review.com) needs to check and approve the article. Then, there might be a chance it will be published on the site. I will keep you updated on the outcome of the efforts!
Other than that, the only thing I am doing right now is studying for my orals at university. This is pretty much everything I am doing every day..
Going to get back at this now!
Cheers

Looking for my this season’s (first completely own) snowboard equip recently, I started the shopping tour with buying a pair of Nitro’s Team TLS 2010 Transmission print boots! Wearing them, they feel no different than wearing some plushy slippers which is really outstanding for a snowboard boot. Also the Twin Lacing System (TLS) works great and is so easy to use once you understood which cords you got to pull first.
Overall: Neat Design, very comfortable – now I only got to test them at the hill – looking forward to that!
