Due to the really odd legal situation, I was looking for a free (CC licensed) icon set, I could use for my blog. Actually this really isn’t easy, as most of the sets do not include the items I would need.
Mixing up the different sest also isn’t the best solution as the styles of the icons vary quite much.

Anyway, I found a rather nice icon set here, and will try using them for some posts now to see if they match the rest of the blog.

I just took myself some time this morning, checked my blog with different validators and eradicated several coding errors.
Now http://zoryfl.wmw.cc is officially XHtml 1.0 and CSS valid and also got the predicates 100% tableless and Valid RSS feed. For for informations click the newly added buttons at the bottom of the sidebar.

Remember this post on my blog at the beginning or this year?
Well for now, I can definitly check one thing: “# run a half-marathon” !
Today I took part in the Trollinger Marathon Heilbronn, Germany where, as mentioned before, I only did the half-marathon.
As I had rather great problems with my left knee in the past week, I wasn’t even sure starting this morning until the very start. Even then, after starting the run, I originally planned on leaving the competition after around 2km because heavy pain was to be expected. And it indeed hurt quite much in the beginning of the run. But after these 2km I just felt kinda better and thought I could go on for some more metres. The metres added up until at around km 14, the pain unfortunately came back. The thoughts I had were mostly like “you did 14km, you can do the 7 left as well!”, though. So in the End, I made myself finishing that run, even though my knee is now hurting as hell and I can not even walk normally..

Anyway, for the statistics:

• distance: 20,0975 km
• time needed: 01:58:49
• rank age bracket: 227 (finisher: 519)
• general rank: 1418 (finisher: 3413)

As you can see, the ranking isn’t too good at all- but considering the circumstances, I am quite happy I made it in below 2h and generally finished the run as a finisher!

I am currently working on a small qt4 tool which allows me to convert big sized *.pdf files with many (scanned) pictures in it into a small one- without any loss of quality.
My latest test showed a great result: I managed to downsize a ~43MB big file into a ~7MB file really without any noticable minor quality!
So I already figured out the right ghostscript/ps2pdf command but the program is still in child’s shoes. I kinda made up my mind about the design and the (few) features already, I even tried and compiled a basic version but it is not yet worth a screenshot.

I really do not know how long I will need to finish this project as I am always busy studying and I am completely new to qt4 and C++; so you better do not expect any great result in the near future =)

Heute, am 1. Mai, fand in Ulm und Neu-Ulm eine Demonstration der JN (Junge Nationaldemokraten), also im Prinzip der NPD, statt.
Bereits im Voraus wurde von der Stadt und anderen Institutionen viel Werbung für verschiedenste Gegendemonstrationen gemacht.
Erwartet wurden ungefähr 500 Nazi-Demonstranten, gezählt wurden im Endeffekt anscheinend ~1200! Zahlen über Gegendemonstranten liegen mir bis jetzt keine zuverlässigen vor.
