Last week I decided, out of a strong moment, to bike all the way home from Ulm after the last day of this semester. The more I thought about it during the following days, the more interesting the whole idea looked to me and the more some people said “oh wow, good idea but I do not think you can do it” the more I got motivated. In the end all that made me go in the city and buy two bike-maps; one of Ulm and environment as well as one of Stuttgart and environment. With this, it was decided!
We (a fellow student and myself) started our ride at Saturday, 9 a.m. The weather was okay and we were fully motivated.
See the first points of the following list for why this changed into anger and impatience quite soon (only for a short time, though).

You probably already heard about url-shortener like x1t.org or su.pr.
But if it is for you as it is for me, you did not know about the untiny service provided by e.g. untiny.me. (currently supporting neither x1t.org nor su.pr)
Services like that are a great help in case you receive a shortened URL from someone you do not know or can not 100% trust and therefore want to know what is behind that link.
If you want more information about url-tools make sure to check lifehacker.com for their toplist of URL shrinkers/magnifiers.

did you know?
The color of your eyes is determined by melanocytes!
You do have a brown eye color if melanocytes are genereously represented in the stroma of your iris.
If they are located only in the iris epithelia, your eye color looks blue.

Also, I got to say, just as someone on lokeshdhakar.com noticed about the picture: interesting to see this piece of work being constantly commented for around 2 years now, already!
P.S.: Check here for a slightly extended version.

Mozilla Firefox 3.5 has finally been officially released! Check lifehacker for a top10 list of the new features.
I just installed Shiretoko (release name of the current version- former: Gran Paradiso) yesterday and surfed a bit with it already. To be honest I did not notice any big changes concerning speed while loading webpages (DSL 3000 only, anyway), though I did not compare directly and as several speedtests show better results for 3.5, I guess there has to be some improvement.
The private browsing mode (aka. porn-mode) works fine for me (not what you might think now..), I did not have any major problems with Addon-Compatibilites. (Check out the Nightly Tester Tools if you have any issues with compatibility -thanks to Skittles @webmasterwork.com)
P.S.: If you think I’m like ’soooo late’ posting this news, please keep in mind it took some days until the new version was released to the Linux repositories =)
